Christian Childbirth Classes

Ashley teaches Christian Childbirth Classes at her birth center in Cleveland, Texas. These classes are open to all expecting couples regardless of planned birth location.

Group classes are $300. Private classes are available for $400. Private classes will be conducted in the birth center over four weekly sessions. Contact Ashley to arrange a private class.

What is Christian Childbirth?

Christian childbirth is not a term to define specific comfort measures, positions, or tools for use during labor. Christian childbirth exists when a woman chooses to live out her faith in Christ in labor. The decision to become a Christian affects every aspect of who you are and what you choose to do. In that way, being Christian will affect how you choose to give birth.

What Will My Partner and I Learn?

The Christian Childbirth Class is a six week course consisting of weekly classes (for private classes, these are scheduled into four weekly classes). It is a complete and comprehensive childbirth education program in which we also examine what the Bible says about pregnancy, birth, and the newborn. You will learn valuable information on relaxation techniques and gain confidence in yourself and your birth through hands-on learning, fun activities, workbook pages, videos and demonstrations.
 

What Should I Bring to Class?

First of all, wear comfortable clothes as we will be practicing pregnancy exercises and labor rehearsals. It is recommended you bring the following to class each week:

  • 2 Pillows
  • Bible (optional)
  • Your Workbook & Folder (you will get these at the first class)
  • Pen & Highlighter
  • Light Snack & Bottle of Water (optional)

There are restrooms and a full kitchen but no concessions or vending machines in the building.
 

What Curriculum is Used? 

The Christian Childbirth Education Program used in this class is from Birthing Naturally (out of business). This course is all-inclusive and includes a free workbook ($20 value), which are now out of print.

  • Birth Planning: Writing your choices in a birth plan, overcoming fears and concerns, and labor rehearsal

  • Parenting Your Newborn: Needs of the newborn, breastfeeding, newborn procedues, and postpartum concerns
